Lakers erase double-digit lead to beat Knicks in OT for 8th straight win, Luka Dončić posts 32 points and 12 assists
He tied the game and then headed to the locker room, not returning for the rest of the contest. He finished with 39 points and 10 assists.
The closing minutes of the fourth quarter were nothing short of thrilling. After trailing throughout the third quarter and most of the fourth, the Lakers stormed back with a 10-1 run, setting up a back-and-forth battle down the stretch.
A clutch three-pointer from Gabe Vincent—assisted by LeBron James and aided by a missed charge call—gave the Lakers their first lead since early in the second quarter.
The Knicks answered right back. Jalen Brunson converted an and-1 to tie the game with 46 seconds remaining, and defensive stands by both teams sent the contest into overtime. The Knicks had a golden opportunity to win at the buzzer, but the Lakers’ defense smothered Brunson, forcing him to pass to Josh Hart, who couldn't get a potential game-winner off before time expired.
