Michelle Trachtenberg’s 'Gossip Girl' and 'Ice Princess' co-stars pay tribute to the late actress

In the late ’90s and 2000s, Michelle Trachtenberg rose to fame with her breakout role as the titular young detective in Harriet the Spy. She later starred as Dawn Summers in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and portrayed math prodigy-turned-figure skater Casey Carlyle in Disney’s Ice Princess. With additional roles in films like Inspector Gadget and 17 Again, Trachtenberg worked alongside Hollywood stars such as Sarah Michelle Gellar, Zac Efron, and Rosie O’Donnell.

Following news of her passing, friends and former co-stars paid tribute to the actress.

Ed Westwick, who played Chuck Bass on Gossip Girl, shared a photo of Trachtenberg on his Instagram Story, writing, “So sad to hear of the passing of @michelletrachtenberg.”

Kim Cattrall, who starred as Trachtenberg’s onscreen skating coach in Ice Princess, expressed her grief on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “This is heartbreaking. So talented, much too young. RIP Sweet Beauty. xo.” She also shared an Instagram post, adding, “Rest in peace, sweet Michelle.”

Rosie O’Donnell, who co-starred with Trachtenberg in Harriet the Spy, shared a statement with Us Weekly, calling the news "heartbreaking." She added, “I loved her very much. She struggled the last few years. I wish I could have helped.”
